Trelewis - Parc Taf Bargoed
• Distance: 1.5 mi. / 2.41 km
• Elevation: +136 ft / -42 ft
• Travel Time: ±1 hour(s)
• Level: Beginner
Start: The route begins at the magnificent bridge crossing over the Taff Bargoed ornamental water cascade and hydro-electric generator in Trelewis. However, do not cross the bridge! (That is NCN Route 47.) NCN Route 476 veers just to the right of the bridge and follows closely along the river heading north.

The traffic-free path slowly curves .25 mi. up to a small road crossing by the Parc Taf Bargoed Visitor's Centre to your right.

Continue into the park along the road directly ahead of you (cars are restricted to 5 mph) for another .25 mi. before the path becomes completely traffic-free again just as you come alongside the lake.

The paved path follows the lakeside for 1 mi. before changing over to crushed stone for the remainder of the route to the Summit Centre.

Alternately (and if driving), you can either park by the lake itself to begin there or at the Summit Centre and cycle this route in reverse heading down through the park to the junction of NCN Route 47 and return.
